.Within this June 26, 2023, photograph taken from the International Spaceport station, sunshine shines off the smooth waters of the Alabama River in a sensation referred to as sunglint. When capturing on film Planet, astronauts frequently benefit from sunglint's possibility to raise the contrast between water areas and neighboring property areas.In the 1960s, the Alabama Waterway was repressed, making Dannelly Reservoir (the big shining region at center left). Building and construction of the dam likewise reared water table upriver. This resulted in flooding at many aspects along the stream. These flooded zones are actually common of flood plains-- the low, flat locations quickly next to much larger streams.
